About:

The SW.AutoLogon module allows you, as an administrator, to define one of several different methods for your end-users to access your site with the mere click of a button!

Compatibility:

SW.AutoLogon should be compatible with any version of DotNetNuke 4.x or higher (tested on 4.4.1, 4.5.1, and 4.5.3) using Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005 or SQL Express.  AD/Windows Authentication requires that IIS have Anonymous Authentication disabled and Integrated Security enabled in addition to the DotNetNuke authentication mode (web.config) set to FORMS.

Product Information:

With six separate modes to allow a quick login, the SeeleyWare AutoLogon is the best way for Portal Administrators, Module Developers, DotNetNuke hosting resellers, and the general user to get into your portal quickly.  Flaunting features such as "IP Lockdown", certain modes can be locked so only users accessing from a particular IP address can utilize the AutoLogon.  Other features include "AutoRun" so that an unauthenticated user will automatically be logged in as the user of choice merely by browsing to the page containing the module.

Feature List:

  • AutoRun: Unauthenticated users are automatically logged in as the user of choice simply by browsing to the containing page.
  • IP Lockdown: Like the LinkButton or LoginSwitcher modes but want to prevent other users from accessing portal users with heavy rights?  IP Lockdown allows you to specify a single IP address or a list of addresses so only users requesting from those addresses have access to the module (without being authenticated already).  This is a great way to never have to log into your portal again, so long as you lock it to your own unique ip address and browse to that page to start editing!
  • Querystring/HTTP Form POST: Want to send out a link to users, customers, or leads that allows them to log into your site with the click of a button?  Three modes are available to facilitate this through an "unsecure" (passing the username and password as plain text) mode, a "token" mode (passing a unique identifier tied to a specific account), and an "alias" mode (passing a unique, human-readable alias tied to as specific account).  This facilitates an SSO approach to DotNetNuke from another application because these links could be easily stored as a favorite or "quicklink".
  • AD/Windows Authentication: Using DotNetNuke in an intranet but not impressed with the built-in AD integration?  Why not use this mode to automatically log in domain users the moment they browse the site?  AD/Windows Authentication ties to the Windows user and tries to match them to a DotNetNuke user.  It can try to match using complete domain (ie, SomeDomain\someUser) or user only (someUser).  If it finds them, it logs them in.  ** NOTE: Please read manual about this section **
  • Unauthenticated Only: Only unauthenticated users will be allowed to use the module to log in.  This applies to the LinkButton and LoginSwitcher modes.
  • LoginSwitcher: Need to quickly switch user context to test out permissions and role security?  This mode allows you to define any # of users that you want to have tied to the module and allows you to easily and quickly switch between them.  This is great for portal administrators who want to ensure their content will only show up for the roles intended.
  • LinkButton: Link button allows you to define a single user tied to the module and either automatically log in all unauthenticated users as that person or, alternatively, display a clickable linkbutton that they can click and log in.  Great for portal/product demos that require a particular role to access key features.

Demo:

Want to see if in action?  Please view the demo page for more information.  Please note that certain portions of the demo allow "full" access to the page and thus content and/or modules may be deleted.  I will periodically check it to make sure the demo is in working order and content is fresh.

Trial:

If you would like a trial, please register for the site and then download the trial from the "Downloads" section and generate a trial license with the "My Licenses" tab (viewable only by registered users).
