I'm having quite a few problems now, and I'm sure mostly created them myself! When I first loaded the DockMenu on my homepage (I know now I should have put it on a new page)... I had trouble seeing where it was. I'm not sure why... so I loaded 3 menus before I finally saw the arrow for settings. Messing around with it, I finally got everything loaded and a working menu (although icons are small, it works okay). However, I now have extra modules on my page that I can't find to delete. I tried using the Control Panel to mess with display and now get this error when I log in:

An error has occurred.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: The Controls collection cannot be modified because the control contains code blocks (i.e. <% ... %>). ---> System.Web.HttpException: The Controls collection cannot be modified because the control contains code blocks (i.e. <% ... %>). at System.Web.UI.ControlCollection.AddAt(Int32 index, Control child) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Pane.ProcessPane() at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.ProcessPanes() at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.AddedControl(Control control, Int32 index) at System.Web.UI.ControlCollection.Add(Control child) at DotNetNuke.Framework.DefaultPage.Page_Init(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Page.OnInit(EventArgs e) at DotNetNuke.Framework.PageBase.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

----

when I'm logged OUT, I get this message on the page:

Module Load Warning
One or more of the modules on this page did not load. This may be temporary. Please refresh the page (click F5 in most browsers). If the problem persists, please let the Site Administrator know.

---

and another issue, I have the DDR Mega Menu on my site, which was working FANTASTIC, until I added the SW Dock menu. Now it seems there must be some conflict because I can't get the DDR menu to work sometimes.

I don't know if this is all related or what. I think the first step is to know how to delete modules that I can't see! Then work with small icons, and conflict with DDR. Any ideas?

Jen,

In order to remedy having multiples on the page try switching DNN to "Design" mode (or Layout Mode depending on your version of DNN). This will allow you to see the "outline" for each module on your page without actually loading the modules onto the page. In turn, this will allow you to edit the settings and/or delete the modules as necessary.

For the other problems in general, if you are logged in as an Admin you can open the Event Viewer (Log Viewer, again, depending on the version of DNN you have installed) and view the errors in the log. Find any and all that seem to point to a problem with either the SW.DockMenu or the DDR menu. This will be helpful in identifying any issues that are occurring and thus resolve them. Feel free to email the errors directly to support@seeleyware.com and I will work on helping resolve them.

Looking forward to your correspondence to help resolve this issue.

Jon,
WOW thank you for such a quick reply on a WEEKEND no less! You rock!

Welp, I'd already look at errors and didn't see either reference to DockMenu or DDR in Event Viewer. I did try to switch to Layout mode and it really went to hell after that. I created another subdomain and started over, and now I'm able to make it work. I think I had so many mistakes trying to get it the right way first. I made quite a few mistakes, including putting SW.Common on the page as a module, couldn't find it to get it off, and I think that really messed things up there. The way my skin was and the pane I put it in just compounded the problem. The error messages you have built in for the NORMAL person, should be sufficient. Regardless, I have it now working just fine, and WITH a DDR menu, no conflicts.

Something wrong with my brain I guess. Even when I DO read the directions, I get mixed up. That's why they have development environments, right? ha ha!

Bottom line: if I install this (and DDR) exactly according to directions with no mistakes, it works fine. If I don't get it and make mistakes, well, the residual problems make it impossible to track down the mess. IMPORTANT for first timers to make backups, follow directions explicitly, be patient. And if you mess up like I did? It's called "do-overs" right?

No problem, keep me posted if there is anything I can do to assist. That is interesting that dropping SW.Common on the page is causing an issue -- it shouldn't do anything as it is merely a "library container" and the module itself contains no code to interract with DNN.

Glad to hear that things seem to be resolved for the time being.
